Cornwall Twestival Local
Dates and Venue TBC.

Twestival was born out of the idea that if cities are able to collaborate on an international scale, but work from a local level, it would result in a spectacular impact. While Twestival Global put the spotlight around one cause, Twestival Local is encouraging cities around the world to host events in support a local cause.

100% of the proceeds from these events will go direct to the local not-for-profit selected. Everyone involved with Twestival is a volunteer; majority are crowdsourced using Twitter. Cities are asked to set a fundraising goal for their event, but it is much more than reaching a financial target. Twestival Local is a fantastic opportunity to connect with people in your community.

The goal is to give people a chance to feel they are contributing to a larger social initiative, but bring the cause a little closer to home.

We want YOU to Choose the Official Cornwall Twestival Local Charity.

The charity with the most votes will receive the money raised from the event!

Charities must

- be a registered charity
- operate or be based in Cornwall

Funds may not be spent on the advancement of religion or politics (including supporting the core activities of religious or political groups).

You can nominate a charity and/or vote for one of the charities below.

Following the first organiser committee meeting it has been decided to allow voting to continue for another 7 days. This is to allow all the charities a fair chance to inform their supporters of the vote. Following the vote the charity with the most votes will be submitted to the Global team for authorisation and background checks. This represents an extension to the voting of 7 days.****

          • Penhaligon's Friends

Penhaligon's Friends is a Cornish charity supporting bereaved children, young people, parents and carers throughout the county.

They offer children and young people the chance to meet others and share their experiences, as well as practical resources for children and parents.

                • St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust

The St Austell Brewery Charitable Trust was set up to act independently to the brewery with the aim of raising and donating funds to good causes and local charities within the St Austell Brewery trading area, which covers the whole of Cornwall but also includes Devon, Dorset and Somerset.
